HCIAS Blog | Perspectives on Ibero-America
The HCIAS Blog: Perspectives on Ibero-America is an interdisciplinary space for knowledge transfer created by the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS) at Heidelberg University, Germany. The multilingual contributions present varied perspectives from the social sciences and the humanities addressing the social, cultural, and environmental realities of Ibero-America. With the goal of reaching a wide range of audiences, this collaborative knowledge transfer project features contributions from established researchers, doctoral candidates and students of the HCIAS‘ academic programs.

I came to Peru for a research stay focused on trans activism as part of my doctoral dissertation, which I am currently developing at the HCIAS with a scholarship of the Heinrich-Böll Stiftung on the topic of political coalitions and memory endeavours within trans rights movements. During my fieldwork, I made contacts that allowed me to approach activist organizations and carry out in-depth conversations with their members.
